77 Only Comes Once
I’ve never felt any different on a birthday than I did the day before. So, today I’m glad to be alive and hope I can say that again next year. Carpe diem!
I always heard people say that aging gracefully was a real thing. Since I have been klutzy my entire life, I knew I would be not be aging gracefully like Diane Keaton or Sophia Loren. Alas!
I feel like I’m a wise 29 in my heart. My music and interests range from the 60’s and up. I don’t feel 77 until I look in the mirror or frown. Smiling faces always look younger, and I’ve smiled a lot my whole life through the up and down times. I guess that’s why I fell in love with Kamala Harris’s joyful smile and her laughter when she became Vice President. Joe Biden picked the right VP!
Joyful people are like magnets that pull the joy right out of sad souls. Getting older isn’t for sissies, and I am still standing trying to embrace every moment. I guess that’s why Rod Stewart’s hit “Forever Young” and Elton John’s song “I’m Still Standing” make me want to sing and dance.

Happy Labor Day! I’m celebrating by pruning some bushes! And more😎
I recently read an essay here on Substack that said people with an optimistic outlook have a better quality of life and typically fewer health issues. I believe that to be true. Let's stay positive and look forward to a brighter future. Happy Birthday! You're doing everything right! 💙💙
So I’ve got two years on you and I’m very glad that you got me up and dancing this morning. We used to have live bands at Mohegan Sun Casino once a week during the day (12-2) and they called the series “Forever Young”—I managed to arrange my schedule to attend every week and dance the whole time. Hasn’t resumed since Covid, but maybe if enough still alive people make a fuss we can get it started again??? HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more!
