Color Us Blue 2024
It’s subtle but not so subtle. Suddenly all things are turning blue. Never red, never never purple or gold. “Why, O why?” you ask. Blue voters are going to vote out the red maga-gang.
Think Blue. I’ve noticed for years that doctors’ offices and waiting rooms are always painted variations of Blue, never red, purple or gold. Spas and beauty salons are often painted Blue. Classrooms are often painted Blue.
Why is that? It’s not political. It’s a sky color and calming. There are blue people likewise, but they are not smurfs.
They are the people in your circle (if you’re lucky) who aren’t drama kings and queens whining and shouting at how badly they’re treated. They are hot-reds.i have nothing personal about hot-red clothing mind you, but angry, spoiled, hot-red faces are to be avoided like Hell.
When people’s faces turn red and purple, run away! Temper tantrums are going to follow and involve you no matter how nice and calm you are. So. What does all this have to do with voting rights in 2024?
As we fight the good fight against felons, Putin and Orban lovers, and insurrectionists, high-roller billionaires for financing them —don’t step down from the blue skies to the red danger zone. Save as many deluded friends as you can.
If you cannot, save yourself and your country by voting Democrat this once if you’re an independent or disgusted, decent Republican.—stop the Trump Magas for at least 4 years. Then maybe the choices will be better. If you vote for Trump’s Party and enablers, you will be killing American Democracy. And your grandchildren will never prosper.
Future generations will not be free to vote for anyone. Let that sink in. Vote 💙🇺🇸

In the current edition of Foreign Affairs, Mikhail Victorovich Zygar (a Russian journalist living in exile in Berlin), Mr. Zygar makes the point that Vladimir Putin uses Marine le Pen and Viktor Orban to message to the right-wing in Europe and favors heavily the MAGA group and, of course, Trump.

A major theme this week on this and other liked minded newsletters read my us enlightened Blue left of center voters is what can be done to get Biden and the Democrats to start communicating, getting the message out, and generally rallying the “troops”. There’s a general perception they’re barely aware there’s an election in November.
Many commentators on other newsletters have posted action plans and good ideas. I’ve started making a copy/paste list. Later today (pacific time) after dealing with some Life Gets in the Way stuff, I’m planning on replying to this comment with some of those ideas.
Teaser: The first will be from A few days ago and late in the evening after everyone else had posted comments to a Robert Reich newsletter, I commented on how in the 2016 election the Trump campaign bought every single ad spots 24/7 for the two weeks before the general election on a certain cable TV channel for $150,000. That channel reaches a potential 46 million households, has a loyal fan base in rural America and the highest voter turnout of any cable channel. Surveys taken by that channel indicated ZERO female voters surveyed planned on voting for Hillary Clinton. ZERO for $150,000.
The Dems need to reach the voters at their front porches on issues they’re concerned about.
