Dogs Who Owned Us
I dabbled with art to gift my husband memories for his birthdays. The first painting is from a friend. The other feeble attempts are mine.
This is another non-political post! I’ve been a life-long animal lover, and though we have many types of animals—dogs have been constant companions. So, if you love dogs and play and love art, you might enjoy this amateur’s love paintings for my husband. In fact I put him in one!
I’m dedicating this post to the real artists who inspired me to be brave enough to post my dog art attempts. Those ladies are sweet
and who are so creative and experts at their art. So, ladies, today I’m taking a deep breath! Both of you have gifted me with your art inspiration from blue trees (Sue) and a sketch of my Paddy (Liza). Thank you both for your kindness💕💕!We have nice friends. After one of the dogs died, we received this framed charcoal of the 5 dogs that had passed as a Christmas present. We treasure it. My wee art pieces follow it.
Due to many family setbacks and health emergencies, I haven’t painted the 2 below. My husband keeps bugging me to paint our last two. Paddy with the hearts below passed over the rainbow bridge in early summer 2024.
All of these are bearded collies except for the last girl trying to play with 2 balls at the same time! She is a miniature blue merle Bernedoodle we named Winnie after of course Winnie the Pooh. We should have named her Princess Terminator because she chews on anything in teach indoors and out. She may be our karma for having well-behaved dogs in our younger days. Seriously, she’s adorable but totally in a world of her own. She was in bed with me one morning, and as I dozed—she ate part of my pillowcase and coverlet. Now we try to distract, distract, and buy lots of bones! It’s all hands on deck here. I can only write or clean when Winnie naps!
I hope new subscribers will forgive non-political posts this week. I’m on overload like many of you. I’ve tried to share in Notes articles I read daily. If people were more like dogs, there would be no war, racism, treason, and abuse of human beings. I would rather have dogs in the White House than Doge. They don’t lie and cheat. Ever.

I love this so much! It is the BRAVEST to capture the image and very soul of our companions. Kudos. I am medically challenged and look forward to beginning again for my mental health. Congratulations 🐾🐾🙏🏻❣️🎨
Refreshing, thanks!
In my next life I would like the talent to paint and play the piano :)
For now, Dog is my Co-Pilot.
Woof!
