“Doublethink” and “Facecrimes” In 2025?
When we read George Orwell’s 1984, we thought it was a just a satire of days that would never come. We were naive and so, here we are in Trump’s authoritarian 2025 non-satire.
Look at these 4 Orwell quotes and think of what we are witnessing in MAGA-Trump-Vance-Johnson’s Christian Nationalist takeover and attempts to revise history. We know that there is so much more going on behind the scenes too. It’s scary. They must be stopped and soon.
Quote from George Orwell’s Classic 1984 (scarier in 2025)
“It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who are the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers-out of orthodoxy.”

In George Orwell’s 1984 the huge crowds who love Big Brother do a rhythmical chant ‘B-B!…”B-B!”…”B-B!” …. “It was an act of self-hypnosis, a deliberate drowning of consciousness by means of rhythmic noise.”

“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale –the lie passed into history and became truth. ‘Who controls the past’, ran the party slogan, ‘controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.’
‘Reality control’, they called it: in Newspeak, ‘doublethink’.

“In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in new speak: facecrime, it was called.

Let's not forget Mein Kampf, which is also front and center of events.
