February 28th Killed Our Joyful Anniversary Celebration
Yesterday we were ready to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. We postponed it after seeing the horrid Trump-Vance attack on Ukrainian President Zelensky. We were too upset and in shock, frankly.
I began writing this before the Oval Office debacle, and I couldn’t focus after watching my hero Ukrainian President Zelensky 🇺🇦 disrespected and set up by the US President and VP. All of those in attendance in that Oval Office are guilty of playing a role in the death of diplomacy. We must not let them continue to rewrite history and say Zelensky was the problem yesterday. Like a mafia boss, Trump posted that Zelensky could return if he was ready to talk peace. Humbug! Trump is a liar, and Vance is an instigator of ill will and chaos.
Our 46 years of happy marriage has fled like a flash of light. We have been through all of life’s ups, downs, deaths of family and friends. We are total opposites, but we are a great team. It’s all about love, respect, support, and protection against life’s bad days. We celebrated our first anniversary with a trip to Rome and the Holy Land. The Sea of Galilee is seen the the background here. It was a great trip.
I cannot imagine being married to a Republican! Blessed am I to be married to an honorable fighter for justice for all. We aren’t pretenders, and yesterday we just had to absorb how bad the non-Americans around the world and especially Ukrainians thought about the US President and VP acting like bullies. We longed for immediate impeachment and courageous politicians to stand up for democracy and for Ukraine.
February 28th will go down as America’s union with Russia and billionaires worldwide. We will be celebrating our future wedding anniversaries before or after February 28th until we have a sane, honorable President and VP. Every Elected official and non-elected pro-Trump/Vance must be investigated and voted out.
Today we are doing basic chores, and our wild puppy will take us away from politics. She’s 8 months old, full of shark teeth and love for chewing bones as well as bedspreads and pillows. Outdoors she is the fastest ball catcher in the West! She is addicted to her Kong ball which has a tennis ball inside for fun and jiggles.
So, we decided to celebrate our anniversary Sunday quietly at home. We are trying to see if we can survive without Social Security without moving elsewhere. Every American needs to wake up and check their financial security. It’s time to realize that we must rethink how we do everything.
This may sound terrible, but I’m relieved my parents, family members, and friends passed into a better world before 2025. I believe that the psychological toll of the Trump years has yet to be tallied. I feel it. From the Substacks I read, I see the pain.
We must overcome the extremists and traitors to our democracy now. Get involved so you can tell your children and grandchildren you were on the Resistance Team and beat the bullies.
Happy anniversary, Diane! 46 years is something to be proud of! I, too, am glad that my mother is not here to see and experience what is going on. I now worry for what my children may have to endure.
My father passed in 1988. He fought in ww2, I’m so thankful that he didn’t have to witness yesterday’s betrayal of democracy, America,Ukraine and trump, vance and rubio groveling to Putin. I’ve never been so ashamed and embarrassed to be an American
