Friday, Friday, Snow Day!
No schools open, sleds ready, and hot chocolate on the stove. Enjoy! Watching snow is like watching ocean waves—mesmerizing.
The cardinals are nesting in the hemlock, but no birds are singing today. My dog listens and smells the wind for naught.
When I was a student, I loved snow days. Poor kids today have online learning to keep them from going outdoors. Sad.
Some of my best childhood memories came from snow days spent at home in my backyard rolling packed snow to create a snowman. We tramped up and down the hill to create snow pack for our sled. We had no Goretex pants, and when we came inside to disrobe—my legs were red and cold. Hot chocolate standing by the stove (we didn’t have a fireplace) was the winter medicine.
So, enjoy every moment with your children in snowed-in days. Make memories sweet for them too. Peace!
Just beautiful! I love looking at pictures like yours; appreciating the beauty of it all and maintaining my current body temperature without experiencing any of the cold.
Gotta go sledding!
