Let us all rejoice, my Substack friends, that we survived 2023! It wasn’t a cakewalk, was it?

If you did, you’re already stronger than you know. If you still feel weighed down by anxiety about the future, you aren’t alone. Age and family illnesses used to be my primary focus, but 2024 political fire alarms took priority! Now I realize we are stronger and smarter than we were 4 years ago. However, we must stay informed and active in fighting for justice.

i never make resolutions I will forget by February. Or January 2nd. My plan is to do what I have done for years, and that is love my husband and my dog first. Reading and writing clear my mind of anxiety as does helping friends in need.

Before Covid interrupted our lives, I began walking 2 miles daily, often listening to inspirational podcasts and photographing along the way. I recommend outdoor activity to anyone trying to survive political concerns. Better yet, find like-minded friends and chat along the way. Form a walk-talk club!

Let’s stay positive and keep our Substack posts civil and encouraging—but honest. Let’s provide some joy to boost each other’s spirits and not worry about numbers of Subscriptions. Let’s be cautious before subscribing or following political stackers whose reading lists are right-wing. Block with no guilt. Sanity 1st!

My last post for 2023 is to thank you for your input and comments. I will not be changing formats with extra pages thanks to your very generous comments!

Hats off to each and every one of you! Take care to love those around you and be safe this New Year’s Eve! I’ll be at home watching an old movie and drinking spiked eggnog with my husband and dog!
