Left Behind
The days before the Burial Day are as bad as the Vigil and the Funeral. Yet, the following days and months after that Day are worse when an irreplaceable loved one is gone.
He loved everyone and never knew a stranger. He taught us by his deeds and by his words of charity and love. He was the most humble man I have ever met, yet his skills and talents were immense. At his funeral, weeping was heard on earth, but rejoicing was heard in heaven.
Left behind
We move slowly and speak little
Time has become confused
It stopped when his heart ceased
Those who loved him like a father
Or brother or uncle or good friend
Have slept, napped, and waited
For signs we are the same as before
We are still waiting and realizing
Our world will never be the same
This one man has changed our lives
Forever and ever and ever
In the best possible way forever
The light of his true love was so bright
All were drawn to his side
And we were loved and instructed
In morality, loyalty, love and forgiveness
Especially our faith lives and charity
Towards all human beings in need
Towards all nationalities and races
We know he’s with us in spirit
Still mentoring us from heaven
Yet we cry for us who are left behind
We miss his chuckle and bright smile
We miss his wisdom and guidance
Let us grieve and remember him
As an irreplaceable friend
Loving until his very last breath
Let us be
until we come back to life
As we remember
with love
Our Irreplaceable Friend
Now our guardian angel
Watches over his beloveds
Left behind
His love really shines through. What a beautiful tribute.❤️
Diane K24: You have deep spirituality and compassion, which unfolds so naturally and fully in bringing us to light about the compassion and love of him, the loved one who passed away and whose mind and heart I can feel in your poem.
Thank you always for sharing.
You have left us a word picture that fills our heart.
