Humor is medicine. The more slapstick and corny the better. The first time “Mrs.Brown’s Boys” popped up on Britbox, we saved it as a long shot. We had a busy schedule this past election season as you know. Sometimes fate will have its way, and this insane comedy with the craziest weird characters showed up after the election.
At first we said, “We will check Episode 1. It’s rollicking, profane, corny, and fecking funny. Yes, that F word is hilarious when Mrs. Brown uses it to “teach” her crazy dysfunctional but endearing family. We fell in love with the resilient talented Mrs. Brown who never stops with one liners. Laughter in the live audience is raucous and soothing to hear as well. I thought at the time it would make a good group “laugh in” with some beverages and chips. I’m saving it for other down times.
Loud-mouthed Irish matriarch Agnes Brown's favourite pastime is meddling in the lives of her six children. Sauciness and slapstick.
I’m laughing just remembering the bizarre characters in the family! Having Thanksgiving dinner with Mrs. Brown would be a real hoot. Just saying, friends, it’s time to use all the old sitcoms and movies to lighten your family’s mood. This one is not for children because of the “fecking” language, but they hear far worse used by politicians.
It’s available on multiple platforms Britbox, YouTube, BBC. Just Google it.
If it bores you or offends you or makes you laugh —well. . .🥸
Who is this “Mrs. Brown”? Actor Brendan O’Carroll! A talent and an Irish legend! ☘️

I watched this show with my son's father while I was caring for him during his fight with cancer (which he unfortunately lost). We laughed our a**es off. It brought us joy during a very difficult time.
Love Mrs Brown forever!
