Private School Vouchers Steal Your Public Tax Money
I didn’t vote to use our tax money for non-public schools or charter schools, did you? As soon as Republicans took over the legislatures, they opened the Pandora’s Box with little accountability.
It’s only fair that in a Democracy, public schools are for everyone. Doesn’t it stands to reason it’s only fair that public tax money is used for public schools?
Yet, many right-wing legislators want to use public tax money for private snd charter schools. Vouchers for private school use will help destroy public schools. And it will prevent any diversity from happening.
Remember the white flight syndrome during the early days of integration? We still have it.
Don’t like your non-white classmates? Whine to mommy and daddy to enroll in a school where you’ll be with like-race and like-income families. Shame!
It’s a slippery slope. Follow the tax money- yours!
It has been a main Republican mission for decades to privatize every government service so that they can give all our governments $ away in huge government contacts to the people who give them the $ to get elected. Destroying powerful public sector unions who normally vote Dem is a bonus.
Private school vouchers has happened in Iowa thanks to our very red Governor. And a large number of parents grabbed those vouchers believing as told that public school were a liberal plot, etc. but a funny thing happened on the way to private and church schools….seems those vouchers won’t cover those tuitions as the private schools and churches raised tuitions as soon as the Governor signed the bill! Hmmm
