The Most Important Book You’ll Read for 2024: “Democracy Awakening” by Heather Cox Richardson

It’s 30 short readable chapters detailing how the threats to our Democracy in the past and present have called forth heroes to fight elitism, dictator-wannabes, white nationalists and racists.

If you are concerned about the future of Democracy and have not already read this book or listened to Heather reading it, you really need to read it as soon as possible. I’ve never recommended a book which is so timely. Now it’s critical pro-Democracy Americans learn and act.

Heather Cox Richardson provides the historical long view of the extreme dangers to democracy we have overcome and must continue to overcome going into 2024 and after.

The book is also available in audio with Heather reading—and that is such a delight to hear in the car or on walks. I bought the book and audio for revisiting it often in the year ahead. It is readable.
