Be Blue Bridges
So, dear Blue Notes friends, let’s be the bridges over very troubled US waters this week. This is going to be recovery and redirection week. I can’t imagine how Kamala, Doug, Joe and Jill feel today.
Are you as numb as I am?
Before I had coffee, I received texts from my adult granddaughter which broke my heart. I realized today was going to be comfort my loved ones day. My whole family have been Harris supporters.
My granddaughter captured the feeling of her generation. She’s 34.
“There are no words this morning to say how scared I am for this country.”
“We are sobbing in this household... it's scary for people apart of the LGBTQIA+”
My heart breaks for all of us supporting Kamala Harris, and it seems surreal after all of you worked so hard for so long to fear a terrible man who just wants to be immune from his crimes past and future.i haven’t had time to be angry. Just very sad and numb.
As I’m trying to function with coffee, I found it hard to comfort her except to say the good person doesn’t always win in a very sick world. The sane people lost.
We must pull together and soothe one another’s pain and outrage. It’s essential we recover and keep the fight for right.
I tried to think of a song that always made me feel better in the past. Maybe this will help you too. My husband just got up and saw the paper headlines, and I felt so bad. He said yesterday we shall see if people or money will triumph. He taught politics and American history in the old days when students were eager to learn. I think ignorance won this election, and as a retired teacher —I find that appalling.
So, dear Blue Notes friends, let’s be the bridges over very troubled US waters this week. This is going to be recovery and redirection week. I can’t imagine how Kamala, Doug, Joe and Jill feel today. Let’s treasure all who have worked so hard for a Harris and Walz victory. I want to especially thank
for providing us with resources to fight for Harris💙🇺🇸💙.I found these articles uplifting:
In the comment section, please feel free to share your feelings with your fellow Blue Notes community. We must bind our wounds and focus on CHANGE. I love you all for your tears today. Remember anger and pettiness is not the Democrat way—it is Trump’s juvenile way. Let’s be the adults in the fight for justice!
Your fellow traveler, Diane
After I posted this, I read
who read my heart:
You are absolutely correct that ignorance and greed (not to mention Hate) won this time around. I'm so sad for our country, but will continue to do what I can for the future of my granddaughter and all the other children. It's going to be a rough ride so we need to stick together. You are always in the right place at the right time, so there is a bigger plan we just don't know about yet.
I’m in the sad and numb phase. The numbness is my only defense mechanism.
