Years ago I would have run off deer eating my plants. I’ve planted deer-resistant plants instead. Except for the hydrangea! I call it pruning the easy way. Bucky has adopted us, and I am so glad!
Thank you, Diane! Thank you for bringing some sunshine into our lives, away from the political chaos. I had to shut it down yesterday, limited information today. I want President Biden to stay in the race and it is beyond my control. I am saddened over the events this weekend. I feel sorry for the family that lost their patriarch and protector who they all believed they were out to have a fun family day, listening to the person they want to vote for, and to meet tradegy is just so sad. God bless this family and God Bless you all. May we not see any more political violence.....period!! I believe someone is going to try to come after President Biden, because retribution is what they are about. May the Good Lord change their hearts. God Bless you and your family, Diane! Again, thank you for all the positive vibes you send us. It is greatly appreciated.
Living as a part of nature. It’s a beautiful thing.
Now a return to my true and usual cynical self. Tell me again how is that six foot high chain link fence beyond the hydrangeas and lawn working for you in keeping the deer out?
Haha. The fence is 3 ½ for a dog play area originally. Deer have adopted it for safely😎 and for cuddles ❤️🦌🦌I took this after dinner yesterday—they napped from lunch to dinner. Cuddling and loving —first time I saw that in person because that’s not the window we look out after dinner! This morning I took water up there. It’s so dry here, and there’s construction on our street.
Alice, my bearded collie is 11+ and no longer chases or barks at the deer. He’s fascinated and stares before he nods off. The deer just keep chewing and watch him, then ignore him. I think the young deer think he’s a hairy deer😎
I know. This too will pass and Trump will go down in defeat. Here’s Bucky napping just for you, Deb. As Joyce Vance says, we are all in this together💙🇺🇸💚

Julie, you’re so kind. I worry too that Saturday was a precursor to violence against democrats.

"Stay calm and paint your world BLUE".... best advice! Its been a tough few days...I'm working on my postcards today to Wisconsin voters!!! 🤞🤞
Thanks for the share and for the reminder that all lives matter in this world - not just the human ones ;-)
Thanks, Jena. I’m concerned about both animal and human life if Trump is elected. We must get the environment protected!💙🇺🇸💚
In total agreement.
Diane K24: You have real talent and artistry with the camera for still or moving pictures.
Today's articles about the buck and the deer are very refreshing.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks, Armand💚🦌💙
😁
I’ve always wanted deer to adopt us! We have a rural property, but our three rescue dogs seem to keep our area “scented.”Enjoy Bucky for me! ❤️

Bucky is quite a looker!
Joan, he’s up napping on the same shady spot—and his white tummy is full!
It’s my spirit animal. I’m thrilled when they appear. Love to Becky.
I have always felt as you🦌❤️
Deer adapt. Much more efficient than humans. Pruning can stimulate the plant to grow. Enzymes in saliva stimulate growth.
Richard, aha! You think like I do! It’s all a part of living with nature!
PS, some hydrangeas only bloom on new growth 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Deb, true—Bucky may create a huge lunch for next year😎🦌
Thank you! I need more vids like Bucky as I cannot help but be worrysick for this country...I have the soul of Eeyore.

Thank you for Bucky and the words of encouragement..
Much needed deer lapses 🥰
Thanks—yes we need respite!
Heading up to our Idaho place this week and looking forward to giving our veggie and fruit scraps to the deer in the yard. It's so cute.
Someone told me a similar thing for gophers. Use Irish Spring soap bar chips down the holes. Didn’t work.
Would it work for iguanas?
🤪
Really? I’m saving that advice for next spring! Too late now😂
