The US faced a crisis from 1850 to 1860 that led to civil war. The US Constitution gave the southern slave states the right to include 3 of every 5 slaves to be added to the non slave population for determining the number of congressmen per state based on population size, though the slaves had no vote.
Thus, it increased the power of these states' representation in the US Congress. The 3/5 rule was eliminated by the 14th Amendment in 1868.

First, which I posted on Nov 3.
They discussed a former crisis 1850-1861 that divided the US.
I hope enough Americans have retained their sanity. I fear that too many have been brainwashed by a well funded propaganda system driven by our true foreign adversaries and by corporate oligarchs who wish to extend their power and weaken governments in the West.
Whatever happens tomorrow, true patriots must NEVER give up the fight to KEEP OUR REPUBLIC. I was in France in 1968. I know what a modern revolution feels like. It is not pleasant but the alternative, the loss of democracy, is far worse.
Wonderful to see both of you discussing our current flirtation with fascism. It’s good to know that we have some sane and brilliant thinkers to save our democratic republic. Thank you, Heather and Rick.
Dear Diane, SANE Amerikkka voted for facisism. I am voting to try to drink and smoke myself to death. Too old to see the country come to its senses.
It’s a sad commentary on ignorance of history.

The video is long but detailed.
You may want to view a part at a time.
Yes, I did view the Richardson-Freeman video. Thanks, Malcolm!
My pleasure.

It’s not America’s first flirtation with fascism; it happened in the 1930s, too. Let’s hope it’s the last.
All the best wishes and luck for tomorrow. I sincerely hope all your efforts pay off. 💙💙💙💙😀😀
Clare, likewise. I wish I had confidence in the intelligence of the average voters uninformed except by Fox, X and Facebook.
