Half of America has been do duped and propagandized by the extreme right in the last 10 years: this A+ video explains the origins of mass psychosis so well that young adults can understand it. Share!
My adopted Dad worked as a psychiatrist in Oklahoma and often half joked about how that southern Baptist religious right-wing Republican Okla society ensured him a neverending stream of mentally ill patients and thus job security. I asked him how, as a young person, I could avoid falling victim to the sick society we lived in... his answers: pay attention your 5 senses daily, find something pleasant/enjoyable daily (even small things like clean socks), have regular conversations with friends, read widely, don't do or believe what others are doing or believing without asking "who benefits if I do or believe this?", have interests and hobbies that you pursue simply because you enjoy them - share them with others. Associate regularly with other people who are able to do and value these communal and independent ways of thinking too.
Thanks, Sue. I must say I love your adopted dad’s advice especially because it sounds like my mother’s. I’ve always listened to smart people whether family or professors, and I’ve been blessed with an ability to read my way through life’s ups and downs. In addition a history teacher (who happens to be my husband has added an important maxim which never fails—follow the money and you’ll see who the heroes and villains are quickly. It’s so true! By the way I love your story about relationships today❤️💚❤️
