I Can See Clearly Now!
Following up on my 2nd cataract surgery yesterday: I’m amazed and thankful!
WOW! “I can see clearly now! And read Substack! My doctor said he would give me a matched set😎
Today, woke up, took off my night eye shield, and marveled at the blue sky and blinding brightness. The tiny bluriness in the “newest eye” seems to be dissipating faster than the first eye. It’s a miracle!
Perhaps all of the dull, gray, foggy days that I blamed on the weather weren’t as depressing as I thought. Everything (even without the sunshine today) looks brighter and encouraging for walking. I’m writing this 24 hours after the second surgery—without glasses or readers.
Eye surgeons are giving light and life daily. It’s like a rebirth of one body part. I felt the same way after 3 joint replacements—but after therapy. The eyes are fixed more quickly (January 29 and February 5th—today is February 6th!)
So, friends, get your eyes checked—especially as you age. You’ll be amazed too, and your spirits will be lifted!
My eyes are brown, but I like the image! The model has no wrinkles😎
I am so encouraged by what you're saying. I just got referred to an ophthalmologist yesterday to have both my lenses replaced. How long after you did the first did you do the second? I can't wait to be able to see really well again!!! I'm an academic book editor and publisher by trade and this is SUPER important for me!!
Don’t begrudge those wrinkles; just enjoy your new easy replacement body parts! I am too! 😘
