Parents who teach their little ones to appreciate the outdoors are rare. Too many adults do not mow their own yards much less involve children in planting vegetables or flowers. Earth Day is 365!
Thanks for this. Growing up with a yard and all kinds of vegetable and flower gardens and fruit trees is the root of my love and appreciation of nature.🌸💕
What a great topic! And I’m in full agreement that methods of connecting our children, ourselves, to the power of Nature is vital. A bit off topic, but do you read Kent Peterson? Lives in Superior, Wisconsin. He wrote recently about their town library that has a program called Read To A Rabbit! And that’s what occurs. The young children take turns reading to a sweet looking bunny. While advancing reading skills they are presented with one of Great Spirits’ ambassadors. Good for the Planet. Good for the kids.
Gary, I love the read to a rabbit concept; I have heard of reading to a dog in school or reading to dogs in the animal shelter to calm them down. All good ideas to get the kiddies reading. Practicing makes them more confident as well!
Thanks Diane. The re-greening of our planet is a worthy cause.
Thank, Manuel! Agree!
Thanks for sharing, Whittakers!
Wonderful ideas!
Thanks, Karen! Everyone in my family had green thumbs💚

Thank you—my family had green thumbs for flowers. Well, the men planted vegetable and apple trees!
My mom is a miracle worker in the garden. I didn't really get that gene. But my houseplants are all still alive!

I do better with outside plants that kill themselves at first frost🤣
Awww. It's a fascinating endeavor if you have the time and inclination.
