While making a veggie casserole, I couldn’t resist taking a few photos from the kitchen window. It’s so relaxing on a sunny afternoon to watch Bucky & Co.
everybody loves to see animals, it brings us a sense of peace. We even enjoy going to Yellowstone to sight grizzlies--up on the hill...and then we go our merry way to run them out of, not just our towns, but their towns.
I love these photos so very much. My little herd has disappeared. So have my birds at the feeder? Hmm….time of year? Suppose I will let the gardener do some work now. I don’t care but perhaps the neighbors will feel better about my yard in relation to theirs.
Watch for deer ticks. We are getting a yard spray of dog and children friendly protection. Today we had 5 at breakfast sleeping, and when we returned from shopping —they were still there at noon! Then they left only to return from 2-5! Lyme disease is bad news. As soon as Winnie can be vaccinated for it, that will ease our mind. A shame people can’t yet get a Lyme disease vaccine too!
The photos keep showing Bucky and the two fawns. Where’s Ms. Bucky? Or is Bucky now a single dad watching over the young’ns or maybe Ms. Bucky is busy on her Substack writing and posting about this woman who keeps looking out the window at them. Wait, I thought you said two does? Maybe one is writing and posting while the other one is counting subscriber dollars.

Yes, where we live, the deer had hill trails probably forever. I feel it’s only right they get to run free. We’re in their way, Ken!
A beautiful scene! You are so lucky to have them on your doorstep!
I’m not religious, but I do like the statue of St Francis!
Peaceful ☀️🌹

Thank you for the info; had not considered!
On the second photo it appears the brown fur is in the shape of a star. Near the front thigh. Such wonderful photographs.
Thanks!

Haha! There are 2 does, 2 fawns, Big Bucky and a young Bucky with starter antlers about 2 inches up.
There is something so special about deer. I always hold my breath when I see one.
After our dog Paddy passed last month, it feels like the deer have stayed closer. They do help heal.
That’s very good to hear.
Beautiful pictures of beautiful creatures. I’m definitely jellybeans lol
Eastern White tails vs Western black tails or mule deer; roam free from sea to shining sea.
They are so beautiful.
Thanks, Diane. Deer always remind me of upstate New York. Pleasant memories.
