Time to stop and smell the roses today!
Life is too short and too hectic not to enjoy every single minute. So savor the moment, the flower, the weed, the person, the child, the animal, the place—lock these away for winter medicine.
As we approach what may be the most important presidential election in our history in 2024, we need to step back often and take time to read good authors, listen to good music, take long walks, visit people who need their stress levels to come down.
This substack is educated to my democracy-loving, stressed-out friends, reporters, authors—and you if you subscribe. It will be always be free. I’m toying with the title since it’s not going to be just about politics. I love to read the Substack experts on politics and highlight them. I’m not one.
I am an eclectic who loves art, music, other cultures, and animals! My dog is my medicine.
Such gorgeous roses, Diane! We have an important election coming up in India next year too. I want to be hopeful about it, but honestly, things here feel a bit hopeless. Seeing the beauty here and the gentle sharing helps, though.
In a world where political discourse can become overwhelming, reading other Substack writers sounds like a valuable space for finding solace, inspiration, and a broader perspective on life. It's great to know that it will be accessible for free to those who subscribe. Thank you for this sharing Diane.
